Summer Solstice Bhakti Flo

  • Rue du Parc Marguerite Bourgeoys Montréal, QC, H3K Canada (map)

Bhakti Flo is Angela's unique take on combining her love of music and singing with her love of yoga. This specialty class seamlessly blends Kirtan (call-and-response chanting, which is one of the traditional forms of bhakti yoga) and a Yoga Flo vinyasa practice into a unique, joyful and memorable experience.

The Sanskrit word bhakti comes from the root bhaj, which means "to adore or worship God." Bhakti yoga has been called "love for love's sake" and "union through love and devotion." Bhakti yoga, like any other form of yoga, is a path to self-realization, to having an experience of oneness with everything.

The practice is a mix of different elements rooted in various yoga styles, such as Ashtanga, Hatha and Jivamukti. Through years of practice and continuing education, the Flo Yoga style has emerged as a stimulating, fresh and invigorating approach to the ancient tradition of yoga. Many modifications / posture variations are offered in this class, which makes it very accessible to all. Students are encouraged to do what suits them and their bodies. The benefits of this practice include maintaining balance, bone health and muscle mass, as well as increasing joint flexibility and range of motion. It also adds to a general sense of well-being and reduces stress levels.
