Uncomfortable emotions may arise during a session, and it’s best to give space to these feelings to allow your body to open to any emotions that need attention or release. Sound therapy sessions can sometimes trigger major emotional releases, including crying, coughing fits, nausea, retching, and even vomiting. These are all normal reactions to trapped stress, tension, or traumatic energy being moved and released from the body. Sensations of floating, tingling, temperature changes, and energy movement around the body are also common. It’s also normal to fall asleep or experience lucid dream-like states. If at any time during the session you would like to stop or take a break, please know that I encourage and support these moments of pause, reflection, and processing.

The calming effects of your sound therapy session can last for a few days afterward. Physical detoxing may also occur, so stay hydrated in the days following the session and be gentle with yourself. Be mindful of the people you surround yourself with, as well as their energy. You may be more sensitive than usual and, therefore, more vulnerable to the energy of friends you know to be negative or energetically draining. I also recommend taking the rest of the day off after a session to process and practice self-care.
